Tooth Root Bending Fatigue Performance of Shot Peening TM210A Steel Spur Gear

Tooth root bending fatigue performance is the primary consideration in gear design. To investigate difference between tooth performances of shot peened and base material, TM210A steel gears double-tooth pulsating experiment with a stress ratio 0.05 was carried out on experimental by group method staircase method. The life different levels conditional limit under 1 × 107 cycles were obtained, S-N curves fitted double-weighted least squares residual measured X-ray diffraction method, field at calculated finite element failure mechanism analyzed. results show that peening can significantly enhance strength gear, about 2.18 times material gear. generated keeps source away from surface, smaller external load stress, farther range where occur.
